Kimmie grand marshalls Towson Area Fourth of July Parade

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

According to the Towson Times, Kimmie was chosen to be the grand marshall of Towson 4th of July Parade.

This year’s grand marshal for the parade is 2006 World Figure Skating Champion and Olympian Kimmie Meissner, who was born in Towson.

Sixteen-year-old Kimmie won’t be the first of the Meissner family to participate in the parade. Her older brothers performed with Calvert Hall College High School’s marching band for several years.

“Few people know the dedication, time and commitment it takes to be a top-notch athlete,” says Sims. “And to do that so young is an incredible feat.

“Kimmie reminds us all that nothing is impossible.”
