Kimmie Wins 2007 Skate America

Kimmie has just won 2007 Skate America from Reading, PA. Her final score was 163.23. Her free skate, coupled with her lead from the short program, was enough to hold of reigning world champion Miki Ando (161.89).

Kimmie Leads After Short Program at Skate America

Kimmie Meisser opened her run at the 2007 edition of Skate America, by scoring a 59.24 for her short program. She leads the field by 2.76, going into tomorrow’s free skate. For her efforts, Kimmie earned a standing ovation from the crowd.
Japan’s Miki Ando is currently in second after scoring 56.58, and youngster Caroline Zhang is 3rd (56.48) after a crowd pleasing performance that included 3 triple jumps within the first minute.
You will be able to watch the Ladies’ Free Skate live on NBC from 4-6 PM (ET).

Kimmie talks about a lot of different topics including her goals for the season, the crowd experience at this year’s Worlds, and her new performance outfits. Kimmie also shares a funny story of when she and her dad went to Toronto and the border patrols thought her dad was kidnapping her!
