Time for US National Championships!

January 23rd, 2009

With early action from Cleveland being aired on Universal Sports Wednesday and Thursday, you can get a taste of the 2009 Championships.

The main event will be shown on Saturday at 9PM (ET) on NBC. As you probably know, Kimmie will not be competing for one of the 2 spots on the World Championship team. She had to withdraw because of a hip injury.

Also, keep in mind that, due to the ladies’ individual finishes at the 2008 World Champs, Team USA only earned two spots instead of the 3 they are used to.

I love figure skating and am still very much looking forward to the young’uns battling for the title of National Champion. Good luck to them all!

Ice Network and Universal Sports to Air Skate America

October 25th, 2008

You can watch all the action from Skate America, not just the finals, on Universal Sports. Universal Sports, previously WCSN, can be found in many markets nationwide including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington DC, San Diego, San Francisco, Hartford, New Haven, Las Vegas and Reno. Check your local listings.

Unfortunately, my hometown is not one of he markets where USports is available, so I’ll have to keep an eye on YouTube and see if any kind soul will be uploading the performances.

On the internet, IceNetwork.com will provide streaming of the competition. However, you need to be a subscriber in order to view their content, and it’s not free. The subscription fee is $29.95.

Fans will, of course, be able to see the final, live on NBC, Sunday from 4-6 p.m.

Good luck to Kimmie!
